The Treaty of Tordesilhas, was created between the Portuguese Kingdom and the newly formed Spanish Kingdom in order to split “found and to discover” lands by both outside Europe. The treaty defined as demarcation meridian line, 370 leagues, west of the island of Santo Antão, Cape Verde. This line was situated half-way between these islands (then Portuguese) and the Caribbean islands discovered by Cristóvão Colombo. The territories east of this meridian would belong to Portugal and the territories west to Spain.

The best grapes were selected from the slopes of Douro. After extended cold maceration during 24 hours, the fermentation occurred in small stainless steel tanks to preserve the fruitiness at 25ºC during 8 days. The wine was oaked for 8 months in French Oak Barrels.
Ruby colour. Typical Douro wine profile, with rich red fruits aromas and different spicies. It is a bodied wine but elegant, that expresses the unique characteristics of this terroir.
It is a perfect match with barbeque, game dishes or traditional recipes of cod fish.
