History

Alentejo, this beautiful land where tranquility and greatness come together. The vast fields, vineyards, olive trees and the whitewashed houses in the villages make this place unique. This wine reflects the essence of this Region, in a calm moment of complicity between men and their animals, companions in the field, all surrounded by the beauty and mystery of this region´s landscape.

Carefully selected, grapes were harvested manually from the best plots at Herdade da Candeeira. The fermentation occurred in small vats at 25ºC and lasted for 8 days. The clear wine was racked then transferred into a combination of French and American barrels during 7 months.

Tasting Note

Deep and dark ruby colour. Wood berry aromas with layers of black chocolate and eucalyptus. A full bodied palate well balanced with acidity and structured tannins. Long and complex finish.

Food Suggestions

Our Montaria Reserva is a perfect match for lamb roasts in prosciutto, oven-baked tuna risotto or soft cheese polenta with garlic mushrooms.
