Quinta do Gradil has a long and rich history, which can be traced back to the 18th century. The finest terroir of Lisbon wine region and the experience of the past, together with the most advanced technology, are reflected in our wines.
Grapes were harvested manually from the best plots at Quinta do Gradil. This wine was vinified in small steel stainless vats at 26ºC with previous slight cold maceration. After malolactic fermentation, the wine aged in bottle during 14 months in barrels of French oak.
An expressive Syrah, with a dark plum color and intense aromas of wild berries, along with discreet chemical notes and a touch of minerality. Elegant the palate, with noticeable balance between fruit and the evident tannins. It reveals a long and distinguished finish.
A bold wine like Quinta do Gradil Syrah can hold up to the intense flavors of slow-roasted barbecue pork. Try spicing this type of meat with pepper and cumin to bring out the fruitiness in the wine. Another way is using Asian cuisine flavors, such as plum sauce, that will add to the fruitiness in the wine. (Vegetarian option: smoked seitan steaks).
