History

Portas da Candeeira  - name that was inspiration to typical Alentejo doors, solid wood painted red on the outside and white on the inside. How are the first wines terroir under the seal of the Candeeira Estate to emerge on the market, its range of input, this "Door" also symbolizes this entry in the world of wines. Located in the parish of the round, the homestead of the Candeeira is made up of vineyards, olive groves and mounted. The proximity of the Serra d'Ossa confers thermal amplitudes very important region for the differentiation of wines here are born, for its freshness. The extensive fields, vineyards, olive groves and the white houses in the villages, make this unique place.

These grapes, from our best blocks in northern Alentejo, harvested during the cool hours, early in the morning, were destemmed and submitted to cold maceration during 24 hours. Fermented at controlled temperatures in tanks and matured in fine lees. Fined, filtered and bottled to maintain its clean and crisp flavours. 20% of the blend fermented in French oak barrels during 6 months.

Tasting Note

Citric color, showing clean fruity aromas with fresh mint and minerality. Very fresh palate with good balanced acidity, providins a well-structured and médium persistent finish.

Food Suggestions

Our Portas da Candeeira White matches perfectly with spicy seafood and fish or in the most demanding fried foods. Harmonizes perfectly with Sopa de Cação and Fish with Spiced tomato sauce.
